Philanthropy
The sisters of Alpha Delta Chi volunteer at least 8 hours per semester. The philanthropy of the Alpha Alpha chapter is the American Cancer Society. Throughout the year our sisters fundraise, work with and volunteer to help the American Cancer Society and other organizations. The Alpha Alpha Chapter also works closely with Relief Bus to feed and minister to the homeless.
American Cancer Society/Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society is the official philanthropy of the Alpha Alpha chapter. Throughout the year, we host fundraisers to raise money and participate in Seton Hall's Relay for Life each April. We gather with the Seton Hall community to honor those who have lost their lives to cancer and celebrate those who have won their battles. Throughout the night we walk around the track, host a fundraiser, and participate in Greek Week events.
Relief Bus
Each semester we volunteer with Relief Bus. Relief Bus is an Elizabeth, NJ nonprofit organization that does Christian outreach to the homeless communities of Newark and New York City. We travel to these areas with the Relief Bus staff and provide soup, bread, and prayers for those affected by poverty.
Operation Christmas Child
Our Operation Christmas Child event is our biggest fundraiser of the year! Operation Christmas Child provides children in third world countries with Christmas gifts. We fundraise throughout the fall semester to purchase toys and supplies. On the night of our fundraiser, our sisters and volunteers pack shoe boxes and wrap them to be sent off.
Service on Saturdays
Each fall, Seton Hall hosts Service on Saturdays, where students volunteer at local sites. Students are not told where they will be volunteering until they arrive at the site. Our sisters have had the opportunity to volunteer at the food bank, the cemetery, and parks.
